Panthers | Star Lotulelei in good shape

Carolina Panthers DE Star Lotulelei showed up to offseason workouts in good shape. The team also drafted pass-rusher DT Kawann Short, so it was thought Lotulelei might come out in certain passing situations. However, Lotulelei was on the field a lot during minicamp, and head coach Ron Rivera said Lotulelei has ‘come a long way’ as far as using his hands to shed blockers.

Panthers | Both CB spots wide open

Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera says both cornerback spots are wide open, but CBs Josh Norman and Josh Thomas spent a lot of time working with the first-team defense during organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp. Secondary coach Steve Wilks said Norman came back for his second NFL season more disciplined and focused after being benched toward the end of last season due to inconsistent play and freelancing in coverage.
