Everybody says I’m injury prone, so I’m trying to fight that.’

Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Norv Turner used RB Chris Ogbonnaya as a fullback in two-back sets during offseason workouts, but said the team is likely to keep a traditional fullback in the offense. When asked if Ogbonnaya, a tailback, can fill that role, Turner said, ‘He can do some of it.’ It appears FBs Owen Marecic and Brad Smelley will be fighting for one roster spot.

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley reiterated Tuesday, July 23, that the quarterback competition between QBs Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne is ‘open’, and he would not reveal a timetable on when he will name a starter or who will even start the first preseason game.

Footballguys View: Henne looked better when he took over for Gabbert last year. It’s certainly a make or break year for Gabbert in 2013. The 2011 first-round pick has failed to play up to his draft stock and has reportedly been struggling this offseason.

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) would not reveal his current weight Tuesday, July 23, but said he would like to start the regular season between 212 and 215 pounds.
