Redskins | Robert Griffin to wear knee brace

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (knee) will wear a knee brace the entire season, but he said he doesn’t expect it to restrict him when he plays. His knee has been feeling so good that often times he’ll forget to put the brace on. ‘I don’t worry about my leg anymore, I just play football, and that’s a sign that you’re getting ready,’ he said. Griffin could wear the brace for the rest of his career, too, but he’ll decide on if he’ll use it further after this season. He’s been held out of 11-on-11 drills in the first few days of training camp as a precaution.

Titans | Chris Johnson figures to be busy

Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson figures to be busy this season, even if he loses some carries to RB Shonn Greene in short-yardage situations. ‘I never really get any short-yardage plays, so it doesn’t really matter,’ Johnson said. Johnson has said his top priority of making the playoffs, and the last time the team did that, Johnson split carries with RB LenDale White. So Johnson is willing the share the load somewhat.

Texans | Setback for Darryl Sharpton

Houston Texans LB Darryl Sharpton (groin) received an injection Sunday, July 28, for his troublesome groin injury, and appeared to be fine, but he has taken a step backwards. ‘Obviously, (the injury) is a setback,’ head coach Gary Kubiak said Tuesday, July 30. ‘It’s a disappointment for Darryl and for us, but we’ve got to give him every chance to get back on the field. He had a great offseason. He was excellent. So hopefully, we can get him back out there.’
