Baker started learning the position this summer, and might be an option to start the first four regular season games. If he can’t handle it, DE Kedric Golston will start.

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (knee) said Tuesday, July 30, that he understands why the team is limiting his participation in practice early in training camp. ‘I mean, I say jokingly that I have to be compliant,’ Griffin said. ‘You know, (head coach Mike Shanahan) isn’t gonna let me go out there and do that kind of stuff. I don’t feel like I’m pushing it, or if I was to do it, that I’d be pushing myself or my leg. I feel like I’m ready for that, but we’re being real cautious right now and taking it slow.’

However, he said he will be OK going into the season. ‘Don’t worry about me,’ Angerer said. LB Kelvin Sheppard is working with the first-team defense at inside linebacker while Angerer is on the shelf.
