Texans | Hoping Arian Foster can practice soon

Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said he hopes RB Arian Foster (calf) will be able to practice at some point during the middle of this week. Foster is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

Footballguys View: The Texans have no reason to rush Foster back before he’s ready. They are going to be cautious with their superstar RB as he’s coming back from this calf injury. In the meantime we’ll see more from Ben Tate in training camp.

Cardinals | LaRon Byrd suffers concussion

Arizona Cardinals WR LaRon Byrd (concussion) suffered a concussion during practice Sunday, July 29, and will miss some time.

Footballguys View: Byrd is a big receiver who can be a quality red zone target. The NFL is more aware of concussion problems and Byrd will have to pass the league’s protocol before he returns to the field.

Browns | Josh Gordon limited

Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon (knee) was limited during practice Monday, July 29, because of tendonitis in his knee.

Footballguys View: There’s no need to push Gordon if he’s not healthy. Head coach Rob Chudzinski said he is not sure if Gordon will need to undergo an MRI but does not think the injury is serious. Gordon will miss the first two games of the season due to a suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

49ers | Vernon Davis has not seen much time WR

San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis has indicated he has spent a lot of time with the wide receivers during camp, but he has not done any one-on-one work with the receivers against the cornerbacks and has only lined up outside a handful of times since training camp began. Davis said he is willing to line up as an outside receiver if the team asks him.
