Jaguars | Drew Nowak back on field after car accident

Jacksonville Jaguars G Drew Nowak was back at practice Sunday, July 28, a day after totaling his car while driving to the team hotel. Nowak, a second-year player who missed all of last season with a foot injury, crashed his 2001 Mercedes-Benz a couple of miles from EverBank Field. Another driver ran a red light, smashed into the passenger’s side of Nowak’s car and plowed him onto a curb. Both drivers were uninjured. Nowak sustained a minor cut on his right elbow, but it didn’t prevent him from practicing.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson vows to improve

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is determined to improve upon his rookie season, and his work ethic, in the classroom and studying at home, continues to impress his teammates. ‘He knows this is his team,’ FS Earl Thomas said. ‘He’s taken control back there. Even if you’ve played 10 years, eight years, he’ll still get on you to tell you this is where you need to be to make this offense work. And you have to respect a guy like that.’
