Packers | Derek Sherrod could be cleared soon
Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy indicated OT Derek Sherrod (leg) could be cleared to practice in the near future. ‘Actually, I had a chance to watch his post-practice workout, and he’s definitely much further along than he was when he was able to go through some of the drill work in the OTAs,’ McCarthy said. ‘So unfortunately with the procedures in place as far as pass or no pass on the physicals, you can’t really get him out there to do drill work with the other offensive linemen. He looks much better. I’m interested to get feedback from the trainers and really see how he feels tomorrow.’ Sherrod started training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list.

Rams | May use committee at RB
St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said the team may have a revolving door at running back this season, headed by RB Daryl Richardson. ‘I’ve usually had a guy, but that’s what the competition is about, and that’s what camp’s for and preseason games are for,’ Fisher said. ‘It’s not going to be out of the question that we don’t play two or three of them quite a bit. We may not end up with a ‘bell cow’ like we’ve had last year in (Jackson) and previous years, and just let them all play.’ RBs Isaiah Pead and Zac Stacy will compete for touches with Richardson.
