Seahawks | Jermaine Kearse seeing clearly

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse (eye) had offseason Lasik eye surgery, improving his vision in a procedure that took less than five minutes. He had worn contacts since his sophomore season in college. ‘I don’t have to deal with the hassle of contacts,’ Kearse said. ‘I’ve got astigmatism, so sometimes they move around and one eye may be blurry. It’s nice not to have to worry about that.’ Kearse has shined on special teams, and appears headed for a roster spot.

Seahawks | Sidney Rice in Switzerland for treatment

Seattle Seahawks WR Sidney Rice (knee) is in Switzerland for what head coach Pete Carroll says is a non-surgical procedure on his knee. ‘When he comes back, he’ll go right back on the field,’ Carroll said Tuesday, July 30. ‘So he didn’t get hurt.’

Footballguys View: Rice should return stateside here in the near future. The team not only expects him to be ready for the regular season but he’s expected to be ready for the preseason.

Titans | Jake Locker runs some pistol offense

Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker ran the pistol offense late in practice Tuesday, July 30. Locker reportedly had his best practice of the year thus far and ran the pistol formation well.

Footballguys View: Locker has the athleticism to run the pistol offense so it makes sense for the team to throw that into the mix. It’s a make or break year for Locker as he needs to prove that he can stay healthy and be the franchise QB the team envisioned when they selected him in the first-round of the 2011 NFL draft.

Bengals | Marvin Jones, Mohamed Sanu looking good

Cincinnati Bengals WR Mohamed Sanu (foot) appears to be over a foot injury which required season-ending surgery last November. WR Marvin Jones has also impressed, showing good separation and speed in training camp.

Footballguys View: No surprise here. We like both of these young receivers and appreciate the upside they bring to the field. Sanu can be a reliable possession receiver with the size to be a red zone target. Jones has the ball tracking ability to stretch the field and be a deep threat.
