San Francisco 49ers LB Aldon Smith faces an automatic two-game suspension if he is convicted on suspicion of driving under the influence. Smith has checked himself into a rehab facility and is expected to miss at least a month of the season, if not longer. ‘The only timetable on this is him getting well,’ a source said. ‘I know football fans don’t care about this, but he’s 23 years old and he has a full life beyond football. How he recovers from this can literally be the difference between life and death.’
