Raiders | Matt Flynn struggles in spot start

Oakland Raiders QB Matt Flynn fumbled twice, threw a crucial interception and was sacked seven times in the team’s Week 4 loss to the Washington Redskins. It was the most sacks for a Raiders quarterback since 2006. ‘I don’t think he saw the field very well,’ head coach Dennis Allen said. ‘Matt didn’t play well, and we have to move on.’ Flynn led the offense to just nine first downs in the last 48 minutes of the game.

Cardinals | Rashard Mendenhall not helping his cause

Arizona Cardinals RB Rashard Mendenhall fumbled twice and dropped a key pass in the team’s Week 4 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he also scampered out of bounds late in the game when the team was trying to run out the clock. ‘Rashard had a very tough day and he can’t play that way. He can’t run out of bounds. He’s a veteran. And to run out of bounds at the end of the game, that was probably the worst mistake he made all day. We need to practice him a little bit harder. I think we’ve been too easy on him in practice because of his injuries, and we need to hone him up more because he’s not gaining anything,’ head coach Bruce Arians said.
