Texans | Owen Daniels could be brought back

Houston Texans TE Owen Daniels has one more year on his contract at $4.5 million cash that comes with a $6.25 million cap hit. The Texans might not be able to keep both Daniels and TE Garrett Graham, and another team could afford to pay Graham like a starting tight end. The team would save only somewhere around $3.5 million in cap space if they released Daniels, but he might be a good influence on TE Ryan Griffin’s development. Beat writer Tania Ganguli feels that it makes sense for the team to bring Daniels back in 2014.

Raiders | Dennis Allen, Reggie McKenzie expected back

Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis indicated Monday, Dec. 30, that no official decision has been made on the status of head coach Dennis Allen, but he gave every indication that Allen is likely to be back in 2014. General manager Reggie McKenzie is on even firmer ground, and it seems likely the GM is sticking with Allen, too.
