Titans | Mike Munchak to argue case

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak feels his club isn’t far off from becoming a playoff team, and he’ll argue that he should keep his coaching job in the next few days. ‘I think I have a good feel what needs to be done,’ Munchak said Sunday, Dec. 29. ‘That’s what we’ll talk about the next few days, and we’ll find out how they want to go forward.’

Titans | Kendall Wright accomplishes rare feat

Tennessee Titans WR Kendall Wright posted 94 receptions in 2013, becoming the first receiver for the franchise to post 90 or more catches since WR Derrick Mason during the 2004 season.

Footballguys View: This was more a measure of the Titans not having Wright run many downfield routes as Wright becoming prolific and getting open. He’ll be a good PPR commodity going forward, but this wasn’t truly a breakout season for the 2012 first-round pick.

Titans | Chris Johnson joins elite group

Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson became the sixth man in NFL history to run for at least 1,000 yards in each of his first six season, joining Hall of Fame RBs Eric Dickerson, Curtis Martin and Barry Sanders, as well as former backs Corey Dillon and LaDainian Tomlinson.

Footballguys View: Johnson will likely still be out of work because of his huge price tag to the Titans next year. He might be the marquee free agent running back, as he still appears to have most of his burst and he has been underutilized as a receiver in Tennessee.

Ravens | Joe Flacco sets career high

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco threw for a career-high 3,912 yards this season.

Footballguys View: Flacco also had maybe his worst season as a pro. He had to adjust to changing personnel and an underperforming line and running game, but he was erratic and nothing like the quarterback that won a Super Bowl and for an instant was the highest paid player in the history of the game.

Bengals | Two OTs leave with injuries

Cincinnati Bengals OTs Anthony Collins (ankle) and Andrew Whitworth (ankle) each suffered ankle injuries in the Week 17 game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Footballguys View: The Ravens couldn’t knock off the Bengals and get into the playoffs, but they did leave their rival beat up for their first-round game next week.
