Panthers | Hope Steve Smith will be ready for playoffs
Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said he hopes WR Steve Smith (knee) will be available to play if the team has a playoff game next week.
Footballguys View: The Panthers don’t have a high-powered passing game anyway, and Smith isn’t the same player he used to be. His injury will open the door for guys like Domenik Hixon and Ted Ginn to do more. Brandon LaFell is the primary wide receiver with Smith out.

Bears | Marquess Wilson, Eric Weems could get more time
Chicago Bears WR Marquess Wilson and WR Eric Weems could receive more playing time with the offense Week 17 with WR Earl Bennett (personal) being listed as questionable for the game. Wilson and Weems have received most of their playing time on special teams this season.
Footballguys View: We love the upside of Wilson in dynasty leagues. He has the speed to get on top of the defense, and he can easily track deep passes.

Ravens | Dallas Clark not thinking about his future
Baltimore Ravens TE Dallas Clark said he will not think about the possibility of retirement until the end of the season. Clark has been active for only one game since TE Dennis Pitta has returned.
Footballguys View: Clark’s time in the NFL is almost over. We wouldn’t be surprised to see him follow in the footsteps of Brandon Stokley and retire in the near future.

Giants | Hakeem Nicks open to receiving tag
New York Giants impending free-agent WR Hakeem Nicks said he would be open to returning if the team placed the franchise tag on him this offseason.
Footballguys View: We love Nicks, but he hasn’t played well enough to earn a franchise tag this year. He’s going to hit the open market on a low note. He’s got “name” value, but he certainly didn’t do himself any favors this season by performing poorly.
