Cowboys | Sean Lee hopes to play in playoffs

Dallas Cowboys LB Sean Lee (neck) said he hopes to be able to play if the team make the playoffs. He has been ruled out for Week 17 but said his injured neck is showing improvement.

Footballguys View: Good luck with that. The Cowboys will have to beat the Eagles in Week 17 to advance to the postseason. They’ll have to do that with Kyle Orton as their quarterback. We’ll most likely see Lee on the field next year.

Bills | EJ Manuel wanted to play

Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone said QB EJ Manuel (knee) wanted to play Week 17, but that the team was not comfortable with the lateral movement Manuel was showing during practice.

Footballguys View: Of course Manuel wanted to play. He’s a football junkie and an incredible competitor. We’ll have to wait until next year to see him back on the football field.

Bears | Lance Briggs did not have big impact Week 16

Chicago Bears LB Lance Briggs only had one assisted tackle in the team’s Week 16 game, but defensive coordinator Mel Tucker will happy with how Briggs played after missing time because of a broken shoulder. ‘He came out of the game clean,’ Tucker said. ‘It was a good outing for him the first game back. As he continues to get more practices under his belt, I think he’ll continue to improve and play better.’
