Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten isn’t ready to rule QB Tony Romo (back) out for Week 17 against the Philadelphia Eagles. ‘I wouldn’t count him out until he’s out,’ Witten said. ‘There’s no question. That wouldn’t surprise me, but I do think obviously this is different situation (it) seems like with the back and however that plays out. But you’ve got to prepare with Kyle (Orton) and go as if that’s the case and then see how it plays out.’ Romo has not practiced so far this week.

New York Jets CB Antonio Cromartie (hip) might need to undergo offseason surgery on his right hip that has bothered him this year. ‘Hopefully there’s nothing that’s too serious,’ Cromartie said. ‘Hopefully I don’t have to have surgery, or if it is, it’s something that’s a cleanup job and easy to come by and go from there.’ He thinks there’s a connection between his fractured hip in 2008 and his hip injury this season. Cromartie plans to visit with hip specialists after the season is over.
