Falcons | Corey Peters to have surgery

Atlanta Falcons DT Corey Peters (Achilles’) will undergo season-ending Achilles’ surgery ‘very quick’ after being injured in Week 16, and he faces a six to eight month recovery period. ‘The rehabilitation time on an Achilles is going to put us close to the start of next season, so he’s going to have to get it going and hit it. But I know he will. Corey is a very tough guy. I feel for Corey. We all do. It’s a tough injury to have. And especially at this time of the season; this late in the season,’ head coach Mike Smith said. Peters will be placed on Injured Reserve.

Giants | Tom Coughlin still wants to coach

New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said he still has the passion to coach in the NFL. ‘I mean probably even more because there are a lot of those that are telling you that you didn’t do very well and you’re not a very good coach and you’re not this and you’re not that,’ Coughlin said today on a conference call with Washington-area media. ‘So perhaps you have something to prove.”
