Dolphins | Abandoned the run in Week 16

Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Mike Sherman was defending the fact that the team ran just three times in the entire second half in Week 16 against the Buffalo Bills. ‘I just did not feel at any point of those 12 carries our longest run was three yards,’ Sherman said Monday, Dec. 23. ‘We really haven’t had many explosive runs this year which is not good, we need to continue to build towards that. A lack of productivity in the run game caused me to veer off into another direction.’ RB Lamar Miller had just three totes for eight yards, while RB Daniel Thomas averaged less than a yard per carry, rushing for six yards on nine runs.

Falcons | Corey Peters helped off

Atlanta Falcons DT Corey Peters (leg) was helped off the field in the first quarter of the Week 16 game against the San Francisco 49ers due to an apparent leg injury. He was unable to put any weight on the right leg, and was helped off by the training staff while hopping on his left leg. He had been dealing with a knee issue in November, but it’s uncertain if he aggravated that injury or suffered a new one.
