Falcons | Expected to pursue OL in free agency

The Atlanta Falcons are expected to pursue either a guard or center in free agency. Drafting a player like Auburn OT Greg Robinson or Texas A&M OT Jake Matthews might also be part of the equation if the team prioritizes improving protection and run blocking over getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

Chiefs | Eric Fisher could shift to LT

Kansas City Chiefs general manager John Dorsey would not address whether OT Eric Fisher is ready to shift from right tackle to left tackle in the event OT Branden Albert leaves via free agency. ‘I mean that’s a hypothetical,’ Dorsey said. ‘I wouldn’t address that right now.’ It’s uncertain if Albert will be brought back, but Dorsey said discussions are ongoing. If Albert does leave, Fisher is expected to be moved to left tackle.

Panthers | Steve Smith owed guaranteed money

Updating a previous report, if the Carolina Panthers decided to cut WR Steve Smith, they would owe him about $5 million in guaranteed money and would take a $2 million cap hit. He posted 64 receptions for 745 yards and four touchdowns last season, and his 11.6 yards per reception was his lowest since 2007.
