Florida DT Dominique Easley (knee), who tore his anterior cruciate ligament last season, said Saturday, Feb. 22, that he expects to work out at his pro day in April. It was his second torn ACL, who tore the same knee back in 2011. ‘I tore my ACL in 2011, (and) I got faster in 2013,’ Easley said. ‘So when I get back from this ACL, it’s going to make me nothing but faster.’

Florida State DT Timmy Jernigan is coming across as a kid who believes in himself at the NFL Scouting Combine, and he was asked about reportedly playing with the flu during the National Championship Game against Auburn. ‘I had a slight fever,’ Jernigan said. However, he was able to play almost the entire game, and scouts like that.

A handful of personnel and coaches this week wondered at the NFL Scouting Combine if Missouri DE/LB Michael Sam will even be drafted. ‘He’s a special-teams guy,’ one general manager said. Sam was the SEC Defensive Player of the Year last season, but he struggled in a big way at the Senior Bowl and had trouble adjusting to being an outside linebacker after playing defensive end in college.

Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater said Saturday, Feb. 22, that he feels he is the top quarterback in the 2014 NFL Draft. ‘I feel I’m the best QB. Obviously, it’s actions that have to back up these words,’ Bridgewater said. ‘I’m going to have to go out and prove it.’ He has decided to not throw at the NFL Scouting Combine, because he is a ‘perfectionist’ who wants the chemistry of throwing to his own receivers during the most important job interview of his life.

Updating a previous report, Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater has added nine pounds since the end of the college season. He checked in at 214 pounds at the NFL Scouting Combine, and claims he can comfortably bulk up to the 225-pound range now that he has fully recovered from having his jaw broken to fix an underbite while he was a sophomore.
