Jets | Met with Mark Sanchez’s agent
The New York Jets met with the representatives for QB Mark Sanchez Friday, Feb. 22 to discuss his future. While nothing was resolved, the two sides will keep an open line of communication. Sanchez is expected to return to New Jersey next week to rehab at the Jets facility. It is believed a decision will have to be made on Sanchez by March 25. The expectation is that he will ultimately be released.
Footballguys View: In his Thursday press conference, head coach Rex Ryan indicated he “would love to have everyone back” but realistically the money and the distraction which would ensue with Sanchez in camp will be things the team want to avoid. Sanchez needs a fresh start anyway, and could be much successful elsewhere.
