Panthers | Will not pursue DeSean Jackson

Updating a previous report, the Carolina Panthers will not pursue free-agent WR DeSean Jackson (Eagles).

Footballguys View: Will they or won’t they? We’ve heard conflicting reports over the last two days. With Jerricho Cotchery and Tavarres King as their top wide receivers, the Panthers have a great need at the position.

Titans | Jordan Matthews to visit

The Tennessee Titans are scheduled to meet with Vanderbilt WR Jordan Matthews Monday, March 31.

Footballguys View: Matthews would be a good fit for any team interested. He’s a precise route-runner with strong hands and concentration. Matthews doesn’t get much separation in his routes, but he does make contested catches. As of now, Matthews is considered a second-round pick.

Raiders | Willing to make offer to DeSean Jackson

The Oakland Raiders are willing to make a substantial offer to free-agent WR DeSean Jackson (Eagles) but will not get into a bidding war for him.

Footballguys View: We’re hearing that a lot in regards to the pursuit of Jackson. Teams are interested, but they won’t overpay for the veteran. It looks like Washington and Buffalo could be considered the favorites to land Jackson.

Jaguars | QBs coach attends two Pro Days

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterbacks coach Frank Scelfo attended the Pro Days of Virginia Tech QB Logan Thomas and Cornell QB Jeff Matthews this month.

Footballguys View: Thomas may be a mid-round pick, but he’s strictly a developmental prospect. He has a big arm and athleticism, but accuracy is a problem. Matthews is a smart quarterback who is a traditional pocket passer with a big arm. He’s likely to be a late-round pick in May.
