Raiders | Derek Carr struggles under center

Oakland Raiders QB Derek Carr had trouble handling snaps in his first practice with the team. After fumbling his first snap from behind center, Carr had issues with two more exchanges. At Fresno State, Carr rarely took snaps from under center and usually lined up out of the shotgun formation.

Footballguys View: This is something that had to be somewhat expected by the Raiders. Carr worked primarily out of the shotgun at Fresno State, and like many college quarterbacks he’ll have to learn how to operate from under center. It may take some time, but it’s not a huge obstacle for the rookie.

Falcons |Not concerned with Roddy White missing OTAs

The Atlanta Falcons do not appear to be concerned with WR Roddy White missing the team’s organized team activities. “We are just sitting back and giving him all of our love and support,” Wide receivers coach Terry Robiskie said. “Roddy, over his whole career, he’s been a professional. I think when he comes in, he’ll be ready to go. I think right now he’s doing a fabulous job of being the man of the house and making sure that he’s a part of the healing process.”

Chargers | Coach talks Tevin Reese

San Diego Chargers WR Tevin Reese joined the Chargers’ OTAs Tuesday, May 27, after missing the team’s rookie minicamp for his graduation. Chargers head coach Mike McCoy expects to move Reese around a little bit on offense to utilize his speed but noted there is an entire offensive system to learn and a lot of work ahead.

Footballguys View: With 24 touchdowns over the last three years of his college career at Baylor, Reese proved with his elite speed that he could be dangerous after the catch. He’s a limited route-runner, but Reese can get on top of the defense in a hurry. He’ll compete for a spot on the depth chart behind Keenan Allen, Eddie Royal and Malcom Floyd.
