Dolphins | Mike Wallace looks more comfortable

Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin said WR Mike Wallace looks and feels more comfortable in his second year with the team.

Footballguys View: It took Wallace way too long to start earning his keep last season and so the rumors he might be traded weren’t a shock, though his contract isn’t one that lent itself to that anyway. The Dolphins lined him up on the right-and only the right-90% of the time. They didn’t move him around, they didn’t use him in motion-they made it easy to shut him down. Now, some of that could have been him struggling with the playbook, but a year later, and in a new offense, we expect a lot more from him. As do the Dolphins. We see him as a WR3 with the upside to creep into WR2 status if he and quarterback Ryan Tannehill get on the same page early this year.

Cowboys | Kyle Orton not at practice

Dallas Cowboys QB Kyle Orton (undisclosed) is not participating in practice Tuesday, May 27.

Footballguys View: We still don’t know what Orton’s deal is, as he has talked about retirement recently and could call it quits. That would leave the Cowboys in need of a solid replacement if Romo gets hurt-currently their backups are Brandon Weeden, Caleb Hanie and undrafted free agent Dustin Vaughan. That should concern them.

Cowboys | Anthony Spencer getting rehab work in

Dallas Cowboys DE Anthony Spencer (knee) is getting rehab work in on his knee injury during practice Tuesday, May 27.

Footballguys View: Spencer has been underwhelming all too often in his time with the team and coming off his knee injury – one which had him unable to get into shape until recently – it’s hard to imagine a breakout season. It’s possible he may miss all of camp and even Week 1, perhaps even starting the year on the PUP list.
