Packers | Davon House wants to improve on catching the ball

Green Bay Packers CB Davon House wants to improve on catching the ball when passes come his way. ‘Besides that (Detroit) game, to me I think I did great,’ said House of last season. ‘One area of improvement I needed to improve on was catching those interceptions. If I catch those interceptions … the cameras would’ve been all around me (during camp). So I’ve been big time focusing on catching the balls.’

Browns | Johnny Manziel not happy with attention

Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel is not happy with the attention he gets for his time away from the football field. ‘I want to wake up with a week and not have my name going through something,’ he said. ‘And I’m working on getting better at that, but if I want to go back home and spend time with my friends or go out and enjoy my weekends I absolutely have the right to do that.’

Browns | Terrance West tired of Johnny Manziel questions

Cleveland Browns RB Terrance West said he tired of questions about QB Johnny Manziel. ‘It’s a distraction,’ West said.

Footballguys View: Get used to it rookie. There’s not much media attention at Towson, but things are quite a bit different in the NFL. West is going to be asked about Manziel almost every time he’s interviewed. The media is trying to do their job, and West needs to realize that this is what happens when you play with a controversial and potential star quarterback.

Giants | Coach praises Curtis Painter

New York Giants QB Curtis Painter got praise from quarterbacks coach Danny Langsdorf for how he has stayed prepared with only limited opportunities. ‘He doesn’t get very many reps,’ Langsdorf said of Painter. ‘But fundamentally he’s really improved. He’s a very accurate thrower and that’s his strength. He’s gotten more work lately and he’s a veteran guy. He knows what that entails and he’s done a great job prepping himself. With the limited reps he’s gotten, he makes sure he stays sharp.’

Rams | Alec Ogletree could thrive under new coach

St. Louis Rams LB Alec Ogletree could thrive under defensive coordinator Gregg Williams in 2014. “It’s a lot of the same stuff we did last year, but it’s just a lot more aggressive,” the second-year outside linebacker said earlier this week at Rams Park in Earth City. ‘You can already see the difference, even though it’s only OTAs. Guys are flying around and having fun. We just seem to be a lot more comfortable with each other and I definitely think coach Williams is going to make a big difference.’
