Browns | Want to lock up Brian Hoyer

The Cleveland Browns want to sign QB Brian Hoyer to a contract extension. He’s in the final year of his deal.

Footballguys View: It’s a wise move for the Browns as Hoyer could begin the season as the starter, then give them a valuable veteran backup when Johnny Manziel takes over. Hoyer looked good for three games last year, but then he was lost for the season with a knee injury. They selected Johnny Manziel in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft to be their quarterback of the future. Hoyer is a hometown hero and former high school superstar in Cleveland, so Hoyer likely wants to stay with the Browns if the price is right.

Browns | Jordan Cameron beasting

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron has been impossible to cover during practices this offseason. Cameron has improved his footwork and explosion in the open field once he secures the grab.

Footballguys View: With a Josh Gordon (perhaps year-long) suspension lingering, the Browns need Cameron to come through in a bad way. He’s already a top-5 fantasy tight end because of his talent and opportunity. Cameron’s current ADP is TE4 (5.09) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Broncos | Chris Harris about 85 percent

Denver Broncos CB Chris Harris Jr. (knee) said he is about 85-percent recovered from his torn anterior cruciate ligament. He could begin practicing July 28 if he receives clearance from the doctors.

Footballguys View: His status for the start of training camp is unknown, but he could begin camp on the PUP list. The Broncos want to be cautious with Harris and have him back in action by Week 1 of the regular season.
