Arizona Cardinals TE John Carlson has been the tight end who impressed the most during organized team activities and minicamp. Head coach Bruce Arians complimented Carlson’s ability to pick up the system quickly, his speed and hands, and he considers Carlson an adequate blocker. Arians wants physical tight ends who are capable blockers. Carlson will compete for targets with TEs Rob Housler, Jake Ballard and Troy Niklas (hand).

Eagles | Ifeanyi Momah wants to utilize his size

Philadelphia Eagles WR Ifeanyi Momah wants to use his size (6-foot-7) to his advantage to help earn a roster spot with the team. Last training camp, Momah struggled adjusting to the pace of the Eagles offense, and he felt he didn’t utilize his size. Head Coach Chip Kelly has seen a marked improvement over last year. Momah is competing against WRs Arrelious Benn, Brad Smith and Josh Huff for a roster spot.

Eagles | Alejandro Villanueva impresses DL coach

Philadelphia Eagles DL Alejandro Villanueva’s athleticism and physical skills were praised by defensive line coach Jerry Azzinaro. Azzinaro also said, ‘He has great character: his toughness, his ability to perform under pressure, those kinds of things are well-documented. So what we’re going to try to do is see if we can make him into a four-technique.” Villanueva played multiple positions in college but is competing against DEs Fletcher Cox, Vinny Curry, Cedric Thornton and Taylor Hart for playing time on the defensive line.
