Lions | Play caller won’t change for Lions
Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi will remain the play caller on offense despite the Lions’ recent struggles, according to head coach Jim Caldwell. ‘It’s not an easy fix,’ Caldwell said. ‘It takes work and I think we’re on the right track. I just think that we obviously, we’re just kind of missing a little bit here or there which is kind of enough to slow us down.’ Caldwell also said that he believes the issue lies in execution.
Footballguys View: The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results. It’s just not working for the Lions on offense, and they need to change it up. When multiple defenders are telling WR Golden Tate that they know the plays before the Lions run them, it’s a clear sign that something is wrong.
