Lions | Deep passes lacking for Lions

Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson has only been thrown to deeper than 15 yards three times since the third quarter of Week 1. On the season, QB Matthew Stafford has only made 14 attempts of passes 15 yards or more. ‘There [have] been routes that have been called that are deep routes and those kinds of things,’ head coach Jim Caldwell said. ‘Sometimes it just doesn’t happen.’

Lions | Golden Tate says offense is predictable

Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate said in each of the first three games this season he has had opponents tell him they knew the plays that were being called. ‘I don’t know how they know or what film they’re watching that we’re giving away,’ Tate said. ‘That’s something we got to go back and watch our tendencies to figure out where we line up or how we line up or what formation or whatever it may be.’

Dolphins | DeVante Parker progressing

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker is improving every game, specifically with his route-running, according to head coach Joe Philbin. ‘The guy is getting better every single day and I expect nothing but more play, more production and it’s just going to keep getting better,’ Philbin said. ‘The guy really is talented and he’s working hard to catch up, but let’s face it, he’s missed a lot of time and he’s catching up fast.’
