Rams | Todd Gurley will need some time

St. Louis Rams RB Todd Gurley, who had only six carries for nine yards and one catch for five yards in Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers in his first game of the season, said it will take him some time to get back up to speed after recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee last year. Gurley doesn’t expect his knee to be very sore this week.

Footballguys View: We’re not surprised. It’s not even been 12 months since Gurley originally hurt the knee. Fantasy owners just need to be patient as the Rams are wisely being cautious with their potential superstar.

Vikings | Adrian Peterson says he’s back

Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson, who ran 20 times for 126 yards and two scores against the San Diego Chargers in Week 3, said he’s back to his old self after being limited in the first two weeks. ‘My legs felt lighter today and just the preparation throughout the week helped with that, but I felt good,’ Peterson said. ‘The body felt good. My mind was in a great place, and yeah, I think I’m back.’ Peterson said last week his conditioning wasn’t where he needed it to be, and he worked on his conditioning during an off day last week.

Footballguys View: Peterson doesn’t need to say it verbally because his play on the field has shown it. He’s back as a RB1 for fantasy owners and a set-it-and-forget-it starter each week.

Ravens | Steve Smith breaks out

Baltimore Ravens WR Steve Smith finished the Week 3 game against the Cincinnati Bengals with 13 catches for 186 yards and two touchdowns.

Footballguys View: Smith has found the Fountain of Youth over the last two weeks. He’s got WR1 upside every week, and most of you out there can start him as a WR2 or maybe even a flex play depending on how you drafted. Enjoy one last ride with Smith in 2015.

Bengals | Andy Dalton has career day

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton was 20-for-32 for a career-high 383 yards, three touchdowns and an interception against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3.

Footballguys View: Run to the waiver wire if Dalton is still out there in your league. The Bengals are flowing through him as a passer, and he’s responding. Having a healthy Tyler Eifert and Marvin Jones have really helped jump-start this passing attack.

Seahawks | No timetable for Marshawn Lynch

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (hamstring, calf) doesn’t have a timetable for his return, but head coach Pete Carroll said Lynch’s issue isn’t expected to keep him out for an extended period of time. Lynch finished with just five carries for 14 yards and caught one pass for nine yards in the Week 3 game against the Chicago Bears after leaving early. He was questionable for the game with a calf injury and dealt with a hamstring injury during the game.
