Browns | Travis Benjamin scores again

Cleveland Browns WR Travis Benjamin had four receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown in the Week 3 game against the Oakland Raiders. It was his fourth touchdown reception in three games, with at least one in each outing.

Footballguys View: Benjamin got free late in the game for what could have been a game-tying score, but the ball was underthrown and intercepted by Charles Woodson. He’s worth a flex play in big play leagues at least at San Diego next week.

Texans | DeAndre Hopkins has 100-yard game

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins had eight catches for 101 yards and a touchdown in a 19-9 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3.

Footballguys View: Hopkins is getting the volume and converting a lot of short and intermediate reception, while playing like a #1 receiver in his third year. He’s a solid WR1 who looks like a great use of a third round pick this summer heading into Atlanta.

Browns | Josh McCown back with a bang

Cleveland Browns QB Josh McCown (concussion) completed 28 of his 49 pass attempts for 341 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Week 3 game against the Oakland Raiders.

Footballguys View: McCown is a gamer, but he couldn’t step into the throw that might have tied the game late when Travis Benjamin got open deep. He’s only a fantasy desperation play. McCown will lead the Browns into San Diego next week.

Texans | Alfred Blue a workhorse Sunday

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue had 31 carries for 139 yards and a touchdown in a 19-9 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3.

Footballguys View: Blue ran with intensity and efficiency. He established himself as the clear handcuff to Arian Foster right before Foster is set up to return in Week 4 or 5. He’ll be worth owning because of Foster’s recent and long-term injury history.

Eagles | Ryan Mathews shine in start

Philadelphia Eagles RB Ryan Mathews had 25 carries for 108 yards and two catches for 20 yards and a touchdown in a 24-17 win over the New York Jets in Week 3.

Footballguys View: Mathews broke through where Demarco Murray had failed in a development that could force a more even split in the Eagles RBBC. He’ll be a priority waiver wire in leagues where he was dropped early due to the Eagles running woes.
