Bills | Karlos Williams has big game
Buffalo Bills RB Karlos Williams had 12 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown in a 41-14 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 3.
Bills | LeSean McCoy playing through pain
Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy (hamstring) is fighting through a lot of pain and is playing on ‘one and a half legs,’ head coach Rex Ryan said Sunday, Sept. 27. McCoy had 11 carries for 16 yards and one catch for 10 yards in a 41-14 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 3.
Footballguys View: McCoy looked better last week, and perhaps he’ll be a better inside runner after the Bills’ Week 8 bye, but if it wasn’t for a receiving touchdown, he would have been a complete loss today in a big win for him team that had over 40 points scored. Karlos Williams is threatening to make this into a RBBC.
Rams | Benny Cunningham totals 30 yards
St. Louis Rams RB Benny Cunningham carried once for 12 yards in the Week 3 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and he added two receptions for 18 yards on his only two targets.
Rams | Todd Gurley does little in debut
St. Louis Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) made his regular season debut in the Week 3 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had six carries for just nine yards while managing one reception for five yards on his only target.
Footballguys View: Don’t bail on Gurley just yet, but it’s going to be a tough road to hoe for him if Nick Foles doesn’t improve and recapture his Week 1 form. Gurley isn’t even worth a flex start next week at Arizona.
Rams | St. Louis TEs do very little
St. Louis Rams TE Lance Kendricks had a pair of receptions for 12 yards in the Week 3 loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers while TE Jared Cook had one catch for seven yards. Kendricks was targeted five times and Cook was targeted thrice.
Footballguys View: Cook was Nick Foles’ favorite target the first two weeks, but he faded into the background this week. He is unreliable heading into Arizona next week.
Saints | Luke McCown throws for 300 yards
New Orleans Saints QB Luke McCown completed 31 of 38 passes for 310 yards and an interception in a 27-22 loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 3.
Footballguys View: McCown was highly efficient, spreading the ball out to nine different on the way to a 16 for 17 start, but this is still going to be a very limited range for this pass offense with McCown at the helm. He’s a desperation play vs. Dallas next week if Drew Brees can’t go again.
Saints | C.J. Spiller not involved
New Orleans Saints RB C.J. Spiller had one carry for four yards and two catches for 22 yards in a 27-22 loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 3.
Footballguys View: Spiller is almost droppable in this very limited Saints offense. The dink and dunk passing attack didn’t even feature Spiller. Give him another week on a fast track at home against a Dallas defense that let Devonta Freeman loose, but be worried.
Panthers | Career day for Greg Olsen
Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen had eight catches for a career-high 134 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-22 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 3.
Footballguys View: Olsen had been a disappointment through two weeks, but he came through in a big way against the Saints. Only Rob Gronkowski is worth significantly more at the tight end position.
Panthers | Cam Newton does it all
Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton completed 20 of 31 passes for 315 yards and two touchdowns and ran seven times for 33 yards and a touchdown in a 27-22 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 3.
Footballguys View: After being a bit of a dud in Week 1, Newton has been as good as any quarterback in fantasy the last two weeks. He’s a must start at Tampa next week.
