Dolphins | Sign Zac Dysert

Free-agent QB Zac Dysert (Texans) was signed to a Reserve/Futures deal by the Miami Dolphins Tuesday, Jan. 19.

Footballguys View: New head coach Adam Gase has familiarity with Dysert as both were with the Broncos years ago. Dysert was a seventh-round pick out of Miami (OH) in 2013, but he failed to impress with the Broncos. Dysert is athletic and has a big arm, but he struggles with accuracy and consistency. He’s an offseason arm for the Dolphins, and making the final roster after camp in August could be difficult.

Steelers | Big Ben talks Martavis Bryant

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant needs to take the next step to become the best in the world this offseason, according to QB Ben Roethlisberger.

Footballguys View: Bryant has amazing upside, but he needs to be more consistent. Fantasy owners should consider Bryant a WR2 with WR1 upside in certain matchups. In only 11 games this year, Bryant ranked as the 32nd fantasy receiver.

Cardinals | Chris Johnson ready for Super Bowl

Arizona Cardinals RB Chris Johnson (leg) will be ready to play if the Cardinals make it to the Super Bowl. Johnson said he feels explosive and that he could have played last weekend, but he is not eligible to return from the short-term Injured Reserve until next week.

Footballguys View: Johnson is not eligible to return until/unless the Cardinals make the Super Bowl. His speed will be a great asset for one of the league’s most high-powered offenses.

Patriots | Oblique strain for Jamie Collins

New England Patriots LB Jamie Collins (oblique) suffered an oblique strain in the divisional round win over the Kansas City Chiefs Saturday, Jan. 16.

Footballguys View: Collins is athletic enough to keep up with receivers in space, and he can get to the ball-carrier or quarterback in a hurry. The strain is not believed to be serious, and we’re expecting him to play in the AFC Championship Game against the Broncos on Sunday.
