North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz impressed NFL scouts at the Senior Bowl and could surpass California QB Jared Goff as the first quarterback taken in the 2016 NFL Draft.
NFL | Connor Cook unpopular with teammates
Michigan State QB Connor Cook was disliked by his college teammates, and NFL teams will examine his attitude in pre-draft interviews. Cook, who had first-round merit, may fall to the second round in the 2016 NFL Draft. He wasn’t named a team captain his senior year, and pulling out of the Senior Bowl didn’t help his cause.
Buccaneers | Vincent Jackson returning
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Vincent Jackson will return to the team in 2016. The Buccaneers were 4-4 with him and 2-6 without him in the lineup in 2015.
Footballguys View: Jackson has a $9.7 million cap hit next year, and he’s set to be a free agent in 2017. The Bucs may ask him to take a pay cut or extend him to lower that number for 2016. However, they could just pay him the full price and see if the veteran can stay healthy in a contract year. Jackson can obviously be a big part of what they do on offense, and his presence helps out young WR Mike Evans.

Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson met with North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz during the Senior Bowl this week, and Wentz said the meeting went well. The Browns may be ready to move on from QB Johnny Manziel this offseason. Jackson said a quarterback must ‘represent the organization well,’ and he wants ‘a guy that can help elevate this football team, not anybody that’s going to tear it down.’
