Carolina Panthers DE Jared Allen (foot) is unlikely to be able to play in the NFC Championship against the Arizona Cardinals Sunday, Jan. 24, due to a fractured foot. Allen will be listed as doubtful for the game. ‘For the most part, it’s going to be a day-by-day (issue), and we’ll see how he is by the end of the week,’ head coach Ron Rivera said. ‘He will be listed as doubtful. As he reacts to it, hopefully we’ll know going forward.’ Rivera said the team will likely wait until Friday, Jan. 22, or Saturday, Jan. 23, to make a roster move if it’s needed. DE Wes Horton is an obvious option to take Allen’s roster spot. DE Kony Ealy is expected to start at right end if Allen cannot play, and DE Mario Addison would also see more snaps.
