Seahawks | Jermaine Kearse catches two TDs

Seattle Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse caught 11 passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns in the divisional round playoff game against the Carolina Panthers Sunday, Jan. 17.

Footballguys View: Kearse really helped spark the Seahawks offense. They were down 31-0 in the first half, but the Seahawks kept firing with Kearse being a favorite target of QB Russell Wilson.

Seahawks | Marshawn Lynch quiet in playoff game

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch rushed for 20 yards on six carries in the divisional round playoff game against the Carolina Panthers Sunday, Jan. 17.

Footballguys View: Lynch was back, but he was far from “Beast Mode” on Sunday. It was his first game since Week 10, and the team gave him plenty of time to rest after his sports hernia surgery. Due $11.5 million in 2016, this might have been the final game of Lynch’s Seahawks career. The team could save $6.5 million by cutting the veteran back as he’s coming off a career-low 417 rushing yards in 2015.

Seahawks | Russell Wilson has an eventful game

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson went 31-for-48 for 366 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in the divisional round playoff game against the Carolina Panthers Sunday, Jan. 17. He also rushed for 32 yards on three carries during the game.

Footballguys View: Wilson deserves a lot of praise for his play in Sunday’s contest. With Seattle down 31-0 in the first half, Wilson maintained his composure and that attitude filtered through to the players around him. He came through with a big game for the DFS players who started him this weekend.

Panthers | Greg Olsen finds end zone

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen caught six passes for 77 yards and one touchdown in the divisional round playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, Jan. 17.

Footballguys View: Olsen made a fantastic play to catch Cam Newton’s only TD pass of the day. In the fourth quarter, Olsen injured his shoulder but was able to return to the game. The team should take it easy on the veteran tight end during practice this week leading up to the NFC Championship Game against the Cardinals on Sunday.

Panthers | Jonathan Stewart surpasses 100-yard mark

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries in the divisional round playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, Jan. 17.

Footballguys View: This was the first time the Seahawks had allowed a 100-yard rusher since facing Jamaal Charles in Week 11 of the 2014 season. Stewart did most of his damage in the first half, and he gashed the Seahawks for a career-long 59-yard run. Against the Cardinals in the NFC Championship Game, Stewart should once again be a big part of what the Panthers do on offense.

Panthers | Cam Newton has solid performance

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton went 16-for-22 for 161 yards and one touchdown in the divisional round playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks Sunday, Jan. 17.

Footballguys View: Newton didn’t have to do much as the Panthers got a 31-0 lead in the first half…mostly due to their defense and rushing attack. When the team needed Newton to make a play, he did and was able to advance the Panthers to the NFC Championship.

Broncos | Omar Bolden suffers injury

Denver Broncos S Omar Bolden (knee) suffered a knee injury during the divisional round playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and is considered questionable to return.

Footballguys View: Bolden made a big play as a return man early for the Broncos, but they were only able to turn that into three points. He’s not much of a factor on defense, but Bolden might be their best return man.
