Redskins | No tag decision for Kirk Cousins yet

Updating a previous report, Washington Redskins impending free-agent QB Kirk Cousins’ future with the team is still uncertain since the Redskins have not decided if they will place the franchise tag or the transition tag on Cousins at this point, according to a source. It is believed that the team is currently leaning toward not using the franchise tag on Cousins.

Footballguys View: Yes, we understand there’s no decision but we think it’s near if they can’t work out a long-term deal with Cousins. The deadline for tagging franchise players is March 1st.

Packers | Ty Montgomery questionable for camp

Green Bay Packers WR Ty Montgomery (ankle) may not be ready for the start of training camp because of the ankle surgery he had during the season.

Footballguys View: The Packers are going to be cautious with Montgomery. The WR3 spot in Green Bay is up in the air with Davante Adams disappointing last season. Adams, Jeff Janis, Jared Abbrederis and Montgomery will all compete for that spot in 2016. Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb are the top two receivers.

Ravens | Joe Flacco making progress on deal

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco and the Ravens are making progress in talks for a contract extension, but no deal is imminent.

Footballguys View: Flacco has a $28.5 million cap number as of right now. There’s no way he’s going to play for that number this season. The two sides will be able to work something out in order to lower that number for 2016 and give Flacco more money and more years.

NFL | Joey Bosa thinks he’s the best prospect

Ohio State DE Joey Bosa said he believes he’s the best player in the 2016 NFL Draft and believes he can play in a 3-4 scheme or a 4-3 scheme. Bosa said he’d be more comfortable in a 4-3 scheme, at least initially, but he came to the NFL Scouting Combine ready to do linebacker pass-coverage drills knowing he could be relocated in a different scheme. Bosa could be an option for the Tennessee Titans at No. 1 overall.
