Chiefs | Jamaal Charles not going anywhere

Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) will not be cut, according to general manager John Dorsey. ‘He will be an important piece of this team moving forward,’ Dorsey said.

Footballguys View: Why would he go anywhere? Dorsey said (again) that Charles is ahead in the recovery process as he works back from the knee injury that cut his 2015 season short. Charles will be the lead back, but team sources indicate that Charcandrick West did enough to earn a role on the offense too.

NFL | Derrick Henry does bench press

Alabama RB Derrick Henry put up 22 repetitions on the bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine Friday, Feb. 26. Nebraska RB Andy Janovich and Northwestern RB Dan Vitale led all running backs with 30 repetitions.

Footballguys View: We didn’t need to see the bench press to know that Henry is a powerful runner. He could be a late first- or early second-round pick in the 2016 NFL draft.

Bengals | Andy Dalton on track in rehab

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (thumb) is on track in his rehab, and he is expected to be ready for offseason training activities (OTAs), according to head coach Marvin Lewis.

Footballguys View: Missing Dalton at the end of the year was crushing for the Bengals. He should be ready for OTAs, and the team needs to do what they can to keep him healthy for the entire season. If healthy, Dalton can lead the Bengals deep into the postseason.
