Packers | Aaron Rodgers will be ready

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) is expected to be ready for offseason training activities (OTAs) after having a knee scope, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Footballguys View: As expected, and if you can get Jordy Nelson back to 100 percent while keeping Eddie Lacy off the snack table, this offense will look better than it did last season and likely be one of the best in the NFL.

49ers | Colin Kaepernick wants to stay

San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick (shoulder, knee, thumb) wants to stay with the 49ers, according to head coach Chip Kelly. ‘He wants to be here,’ said Kelly. ‘He’s never expressed to me that he doesn’t want to be here. He expressed to me that he was excited about getting healthy and getting going. And we’re excited about him getting healthy and getting going.’

Footballguys View: Some thing Kaepernick is a perfect fit for a Chip Kelly offense. We’re not sure of that, but Kelly will like his mobility enough to give him a shot. This could be an effort to drum up some interest after a terrible 2015, but we think Kelly legitimately sees something in Kaepernick.

Buccaneers | Doug Martin unlikely to sign this week

Tampa Bay Buccaneers impending free-agent RB Doug Martin has met with the Buccaneers, but a deal isn’t expected this week.

Footballguys View: He has to be wondering about the open market, but Martin also knows the Buccaneers will pay him. They need him to help keep things consistent for Jameis Winston as the quarterback enters his second year. Martin is a key component of the offense and will carry it via the ground game, so they don’t want him to leave.

Broncos | Denver has $3.3 million in unused cap space

The Denver Broncos will have over $3.3 million in unused 2015 salary cap space that will spill over into this year, according to data released by the NFL Players Association. It’s around the league median in carryover space this year. Fourteen teams will have a lower amount of cap space than the Broncos. The Broncos are trying to re-sign impending free-agent LB Von Miller, QB Brock Osweiler and DE Malik Jackson.
