Jets | Two Jets to be cut soon?

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley and TE Jeff Cumberland could be among the next victims of New York’s cuts. Kerley’s role was diminished in 2015 and the Jets could increase their savings to $2.5 million if Kerley is cut before June 1. Cumberland’s playing time was lessened last year and he had no signing bonus on his contract, which could make him an easier cut.

NFL | Carson Wentz has plenty of upside

North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz has potential similar to Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck, in the opinion of NFL media draft expert Mike Mayock. ‘When I look at him, I see a kid that’s as athletic or more athletic than Andrew Luck. He’s bigger than Andrew Luck. He’s got arm strength comparable to Andrew Luck,’ Mayock said. Wentz has also drawn high remarks from scouts for his intangibles.

Rams | Kenny Britt to be cut?

Los Angeles Rams WR Kenny Britt will save the Rams $5 million of their salary cap with no dead money if he is released this offseason.

Footballguys View: The Rams have been cutting veterans to create more cap space, and it wouldn’t surprise us to see them move on from Britt. Like former Rams TE Jared Cook, Britt has good natural talent but has never really played up to his potential. Some team would be interested in Britt as a speedy veteran with the ability to start if needed.

Rams | Nick Foles could be paid to leave

Los Angeles Rams QB Nick Foles could be released this offseason, but the Rams would likely have to pay him still. He is due $8.75 million in 2016 with $6 million already guaranteed, including another $1.75 million guaranteed by mid-March.

Footballguys View: Foles failed to impress during his time with the Rams, so they are likely to move on. He’ll land with another team, but perhaps only as a backup as he’s disappointed as a starter for two different teams now.

49ers | Colin Kaepernick open to returning to SF

San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick is more than open to returning to the 49ers in 2016, according to NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport. Kaepernick will be owed a full base salary of $11.9 million if he’s on the roster April 1. New head coach Chip Kelly was interested in Kaepernick before he landed the job, but he hasn’t publicly endorsed Kaepernick over QB Blaine Gabbert.
