Saints | C.J. Spiller should improve

New Orleans Saints RB C.J. Spiller is expected to have more opportunities next season to be successful again, according to general manager Mickey Loomis. Loomis said he believes the ‘real C.J. Spiller’ will be back next season and blamed a lack of good health for Spiller’s 2015 hardships. It was originally speculated that Spiller could be cut this offseason after a dismal first season with New Orleans, but the Saints would save little in cutting him.

Footballguys View: Whether that improvement will translate to better fantasy numbers is another question entirely. After all he’ll need consistent carries to truly be a fantasy producer.

Giants | Eli Manning talks Odell Beckham

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. has matured emotionally overall, according to QB Eli Manning. Manning said Beckham was better last season as far as controlling his emotions, adding that the game versus the Carolina Panthers and CB Josh Norman was the exception. Manning said Beckham knows he made a mistake and learned from it, but doesn’t believe it will be a future problem.

Browns | Cleveland an option for Sam Bradford?

The Cleveland Browns could decide to pursue Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford this offseason if he becomes available. The Browns had interest in trading for Bradford last offseason, but they’re under new management and have a new head coach now. Cleveland can also draft a quarterback with the second overall pick in the draft, and they are expected to do so. The Cleveland Plain Dealer’s Mary Kay Cabot said the Browns are open to all options.

Footballguys View: The Cleveland Brown’s have a lot of work to do. Not just on offense either, as they have problems on the defensive side as well. Whether it’s Bradford worry a rookie quarterback, someone has to be able to catch the balls they throw. Josh Gordon could be back, but he’s not enough.

49ers | SF could pursue Sam Bradford

The San Francisco 49ers could end up pursuing Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford this offseason, but the Niners must first decide what they will do with QB Colin Kaepernick. Many believe that it’s unlikely that Kaepernick returns. However, new 49ers head coach Chip Kelly wasn’t so high on Bradford after the 2015 season, according to former Eagles scout John Middlekauff.

Texans | Sam Bradford unlikely to Houston

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford is unlikely to land with the Houston Texans this offseason, as the Texans are focused on drafting their next quarterback in the first round of the draft, according to the Houston Chronicle’s John McClain. ‘They want to draft (a quarterback) in the first round. They’re tired of using retreads. They played five this year, started four. Last year they played four and started three. So they need a quarterback, and they want one that they can develop,’ McClain said.
