Texans | Vernon Butler worked out for Texans
Louisiana Tech DT Vernon Butler worked out for the Houston Texans recently, according to a source.
Footballguys View: The Texans are always looking for more and more ways to continue improving the defense. Butler would be a nice addition though he is a bit undersized. He makes up for it a bit with a quick first step and could develop more tools with some time. He’s a third or fourth round pick worth their time.

Saints | Drew Brees not close to the end
New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees didn’t put much stock into the reports the team was looking to trade up to land the No. 1 pick earlier this offseason and said he doesn’t plan to retire any time soon. ‘It wouldn’t be the first time that I’ve been on a team where they took a quarterback in the first round to come take my position and I would take the exact same approach now that I did then, which is, it’s my team, it’s my job,’ Brees said. ‘I don’t think there’s any use in talking about it because I doubt it would happen. And if it did, I trust our organization. I trust Mickey (Loomis) and Sean (Payton). If there’s somebody there that you feel like is going to be the future of our organization for years to come, then take him, but I don’t plan on giving up my job anytime soon.’
