Jets | New York targeting WR?

The New York Jets could be targeting a wide receiver with their first-round pick, according to sources. Texas Christian WR Josh Doctson and Notre Dame WR Will Fuller are names to watch.

Footballguys View: Brandon Marshall is in the autumn of his career despite a huge 2015, and 2015 second-round pick Devin Smith tore his ACL last year. Fuller and Doctson are downfield threats who could make this pass offense even more dangerous as long as Ryan Fitzpatrick is brought back.

Jets | Muhammad Wilkerson trade unlikely

New York Jets DE Muhammad Wilkerson is unlikely to be traded after the team fielded calls and experienced little action.

Footballguys View: Wilkerson is an elite defensive lineman who can play multiple spots along the defensive line. While he’ll have to be paid to market value for his services, it’s hard to believe teams expect more from a first round pick, even at a discount. This could be to the Jets gain in the long run.

49ers | San Fran not interested in Sam Bradford

San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke said ‘there’s been no talk internally’ about trading for Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford. Bradford’s agent, Tom Condon, has confirmed that Bradford has requested to be traded. Bradford’s former coach, Chip Kelly, is the new 49ers coach.

Footballguys View: Kelly already overpaid for Bradford once in Philadelphia, he is very unlikely to do it again for a team in rebuilding mode. Bradford will either be the bridge to Carson Wentz or a Denver Bronco this year.

49ers | Colin Kaepernick not throwing

San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick (shoulder, thumb, knee) is attending the team’s voluntary minicamp this week but hasn’t resume throwing.

Footballguys View: Perhaps this is part of what is holding up the potential deal between the 49ers and Broncos. Kaepernick did come to the Broncos facility earlier in the offseason, so they might know more about his medical situation than we do.

Eagles | Sam Bradford not shy of competition

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford’s agent, Tom Condon, said Bradford isn’t afraid of competition. He wants out because the Eagles’ quarterback situation has a pre-determined outcome where the No. 2 pick starts when ready.

Footballguys View: The Broncos could play this situation to their advantage by convincing the 49ers that they are willing to trade for Bradford as an alternative to acquiring Colin Kaepernick. Stay tuned.
