Footballguys View: Maxwell missed two games last season with the Philadelphia Eagles because of a sprained sternoclavicular joint in his shoulder. We’ll see if he can stay healthy and play better than he did with the Eagles in 2015. We believe in new Dolphins DC Vance Joseph, but he’s got his work cut out for him in Miami.

Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston has put in work to enter the 2016 season in much better shape, and his teammates were impressed with the results during voluntary minicamp Tuesday, April 26. Winston’s trainer, Tim Grover, said Winston lost 18 pounds since last year. ‘I was joking with him the other day. He took his shirt off, and I said ‘Man, what happened to the belly?’ He’s got a six-pack like me. He’s put in a tremendous amount of work and I think it’s going to be a great year for him and this whole team,’ WR Mike Evans said.

Redskins | Positive negotiations with Kirk Cousins

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins and the Redskins continue to talk about a long-term deal, according to general manager Scot McCloughan. The negotiations are considered positive, and McCloughan thinks a deal could be imminent. Cousins signed his franchise tag for close to $20 million on March 3. The deadline for a long-term deal is July 15.
