Chiefs | Signing Mike Williams

Free-agent WR Mike Williams (Bills) is signing a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs Monday, April 25, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys View: Williams is a big/physical receiver, but injuries and off-field problems have made him bounce around the league since coming into the NFL as a fourth-round pick in 2010. The Chiefs are one of the most WR-needy teams in the league, so Williams is worth watching if he can regain the form he showed earlier in his career.

Browns | Saalim Hakim signs

Free-agent WR Saalim Hakim (Lions) signed an undisclosed deal with the Cleveland Browns Monday, April 25.

Footballguys View: Hakim tried out for the Browns last week at their voluntary minicamp. Undrafted out of Tartleton in 2011, Hakim began his pro career in the UFL with the Las Vegas Locomotives. The Browns are the sixth NFL team he’s been on, and Hakim will be hard-pressed to make the roster…even on a WR-needy team like the Browns.

Cowboys | Won’t trade from fourth pick

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the Cowboys will stay at the No. 4 spot in the NFL Draft.

Footballguys View: The Cowboys have seen plenty of activity in front of them in the draft with the 1st- and 2nd-overall picks already exchanging hands. They can sit tight at four and get an impact player that may not have been available otherwise. We think Joey Bosa (Ohio State) would be a great addition to their team.

Eagles | Sam Bradford facing fine

Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford will be fined if he does not show up for minicamp. If he misses all of training camp, he’ll surrender 25% of his signing bonus, and more if his absence extends into the regular season.

Footballguys View: Bradford has a huge contract since the Eagles overpaid to keep him for some reason earlier this offseason. He should not run from competition, especially when it seems the team is willing to let him begin the season as the starter.

Broncos | Different role for C.J. Anderson

Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson said his role will be different in 2016 because he will control more when he’s off the field, as opposed to alternating so much with RB Ronnie Hillman and others.

Footballguys View: Anderson has been paid like a top RB, and the Broncos are expecting top-level production. He just needs to stay healthy because we’ve seen him be productive at the end of each of the last two seasons. Last year, Anderson’s early season was derailed by an ankle/turf toe injury he suffered in Week 1. If healthy, Anderson is a three-down back who can at least be a RB2 with RB1 upside in the Kubiak system.
