Footballguys View: No surprise here. The Jets are at an impasse with contract negotiations with free agent Ryan Fitzpatrick. Hoyer is a similar veteran who could be had on the cheap.

Footballguys View: Wilkerson is still rehabbing his broken leg and has not signed his franchise tender offer. He’s been in the discussion when consider players the Jets could end up trading away. Wilkerson is seeking a long-term deal, and the Jets don’t seem like they want to commit.

Free-agent RB Ronnie Hillman’s (Broncos) contract negotiations with the Denver Broncos have heated up recently.

Footballguys View: As we get closer to the draft, it looks like Hillman will return to the Broncos. If signed, he’d give the team a change-of-pace back (again) behind starter C.J. Anderson.

Free-agent QB Brian Hoyer (Texans) is expected to receive interest from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Footballguys View: The Steelers would like some better depth behind Ben Roethlisberger. Hoyer could join for a good price and be a spot starter if Roethlisberger is banged up again.
