NFL | Leon Hall had surgery

Former Cincinnati Bengals CB Leon Hall (back) underwent surgery on his back this offseason to repair a disc injury that required epidurals late in the year. Despite the surgery, Hall has been heavily recruited by the Miami Dolphins and Dolphins defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, Hall’s former secondary coach with the Bengals. Neither side has been able to agree on financial terms, though.

Eagles | Ezekiel Elliott visiting Philadelphia

Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott is visiting the Philadelphia Eagles Wednesday, April 12, according to a source.

Footballguys View: Elliott should fall to the Eagles with the 8th-overall pick. He’s a fine all-purpose runner with the power to grind down opponents. Elliott has a ton of upside as a pro, and he’ll be a rookie RB that fantasy owners want to add come August.

Browns | Josh Gordon’s petition denied

Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon’s petition for reinstatement from his indefinite drug ban was denied by the NFL, according to a source.

Footballguys View: With another failed drug test rumored to have happened in the last few weeks, it was doubtful that Gordon would be reinstated by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Gordon will be able to apply for reinstatement later in the year.

Packers | Eddie Lacy ready to prove himself

Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy has worked his way into better shape this offseason, and the people around Lacy believe the Packers are going to be happy with what they see when Lacy reports to the offseason program, according to NFL Network’s Albert Breer. Breer said Lacy has redistributed weight from his midsection to his shoulders and arms. Lacy has slimmed down over the last two months in large part because of P90X workouts.
