Saints | C.J. Spiller looks better

New Orleans Saints RB C.J. Spiller’s (knee) health and movement skills are noticeably different so far this offseason, according to head coach Sean Payton. ‘He worked his butt off in the offseason to get the strength back in that leg he [injured],’ Payton said. ‘That’s been real encouraging.’

Footballguys View: Spiller has upside but at 29 and beat up, it’s not a lot. He’s well behind everyone else there and we don’t see him as worth a roster spot.

Dolphins | More freedom for Ryan Tannehill

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill said the Dolphins will mix things up in new head coach Adam Gase’s offense. Tannehill said there’s more variability and versatility under Gase than there was with former offensive coordinator Bill Lazor. Tannehill will also be adjusting more on the fly, whether that’s with routes, protection or even just the play in general.

Footballguys View: Gase is going to find out real quick how much he can depend on his quarterback. Tannehill has made some strides but can still be erratic. Gase’s offense is exciting, and could produce some good points if Tannehill is up to the task. We see him as a solid QB2 but he has some upside in this scheme.
