Jets | No recent Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jets talks
Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) hasn’t had recent talks with the New York Jets. The two sides remain far apart, and a resolution isn’t expected soon.
Footballguys View: This contradicts other reports saying things are going to close in the near future. We’re quite frankly sick of the drama surrounding the league’s lowest level of acceptable starting QB. That’s what Fitzpatrick is…but he’s the best option for the Jets in 2016. Christian Hackenberg is likely to be the team’s QB of the future.
Panthers | Kawann Short reports to camp
Carolina Panthers DT Kawann Short reported to training camp Wednesday, July 27, despite a contract dispute.
Footballguys View: Short was at the facility for mandatory minicamp earlier this offseason, so it makes sense that he would also show up when training camp starts. He wants a new long-term deal that could make him one of the highest-paid DTs in the league. The Panthers don’t seem willing to do that right now, so we could see the franchise tag used on Short next offseason.
Steelers | Antonio Brown won’t hold out
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown will report to training camp Thursday, July 28, despite displeasure with this contract. Brown is hopeful his contract situation will be addressed before the start of the season. He has $6.25 million and $8.71 million salaries the next two seasons.

Packers | Randall Cobb references Pokemon GO
Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb was at practice Tuesday, July 26, and was apparently bitten by Pokemon GO craziness in the offseason. ‘As a receiver group, we consider ourselves playing Pokemon right now. We’re trying to catch them all. We’re going to go out there and try making as many plays as we can,’ Cobb said.
