NFL | Darnell Dockett calls it a career

Free-agent DL Darnell Dockett (49ers) is expected to sign a one-day contract with the Arizona Cardinals before announcing his retirement from football on Monday, July 25, according to a source. The 35-year-old three-time Pro Bowler accumulated 40.5 sacks over 10 seasons as a Cardinal – seventh in team history – and tied a Super Bowl record with three in Super Bowl XLIII.

Lions | Two Lions placed on PUP list

Detroit Lions WR Corey Fuller (foot) and TE Brandon Pettigrew (knee) were placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Sunday, July 24.

Footballguys View: Fuller has the best deep speed in the Lions wide receiver corps, but his foot injury could endanger his roster spot with T.J. Jones coming on and Jeremy Kerley added as a slot receiver/returner. Bubba Caldwell and Andre Roberts were also added in the offseason, so Fuller needs to get back on the field soon to compete with a deep group that has a lot of experience.

Raiders | Karl Joseph will be ready

Oakland Raiders rookie SS Karl Joseph (knee) will be ready to participate in training camp, according to head coach Jack Del Rio. Joseph is expected to start opposite FS Reggie Nelson.

Footballguys View: The Raiders already have one of the best rising defensive stars in the NFL in Khalil Mack. The addition of Nelson and Bob Sanders-esque talent Joseph in the back of the defense should help them create more interceptions when Mack and company get after the quarterback.
