Seahawks | Thomas Rawls is undisputed No. 1

Seattle Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls (ankle) is the undisputed No. 1 running back for the team, and that has never been a question when he is healthy.

Footballguys View: Rawls should lead the team in carries, but he won’t get the full workload he was getting last year as long as Christine Michael is running well and keeping his head on straight. The second year back deserves a 4th-5th round slot and Michael is his clear handcuff heading into the season.

Cowboys | Orlando Scandrick’s deal to be redone

The Dallas Cowboys plan to restructure CB Orlando Scandrick’s contract to free up approximately $3 million in salary cap space for the 2016 season, sources said Wednesday, Sept. 1. The team will likely convert $4 million of Scandrick’s $5 million base salary into a signing bonus that would free up $3 million in additional salary cap space so the team can pursue a backup quarterback.

Cowboys | Healthy Sean Lee restructures deal

Dallas Cowboys LB Sean Lee (knee) had $2 million of his $3 million base into bonus pay, but it did not clear any space for the 2016 season. As far as his knee is concerned, he said ‘I’ll be ready to go for the first game.’

Footballguys View: Lee is the most important player in the Cowboys defense, which is thin upfront and lacking proven pass rushers. They can’t afford to lose him for the season opener against the Giants.
